Being Strong

Well the past few days have been a little rough with Brooklyn being sick with a bad cold.  Yesterday I took her to the doctor and they said that she needed to be tested for the flu so they stuck that little q-tip in her nose and we waited 15 minutes for the results the dr. came back in and said no flu but lets just check for strep to rule that out.  So we held her back and he placed another q-tip in her throat, well when we sat her up she throw up everything she had ate and drank while we were at the dr.  He hit her reflex in the back of her tough and there it went all over me and the dr.  Well after a few minutes he came back to say no strep.  I was thankful that it was not flu or strep but she has a bad cold that is the worse I have ever seen in a little one.  The dr. said that it might turn into a sinus infection.
Please pray for Brooklyn and my family that she gets better and we get rest during the day and especially night.

On a side note I want to share some cute things Kennedy has been talking about:
We are planning a family vacation to Disney so last night she was asking Channing about what they have at Disney she said Daddy do they have candy, fruit and chap stick?
Then she asked Channing are we going to be sleeping there and Channing said yes she said are they building it.  She is so excited about Disney and spending time with Cinderella on her birthday.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

Radical

Channing and I will be joining a bible study on Monday nights with our friend Paul and Beverly Brooks.  The book is Radical by David Platt.  We have been told that it will change our life.  I will share with you weekly about the study.  Here is a link if you want to learn more about Radical.

Talking up a storm

Brooklyn is a very active 16 month old and when I think about Kennedy at this age they are not the same.  Brooklyn gets into everything and I mean everything.  Here are a list of what she is doing now:
-She is talking all the time and says everything you say.  She loves saying Where's daddy?  and Pee pee
-I bought her a little potty and she loves it.  She loves the water in the toilet so when Kennedy is going potty I place her on her potty and the entire time she says pee pee, pee pee....
-She loves to eat.  The only thing she will not eat is mashed potatoes.  She loves veggies and especially her new snack (fruit snack)
-What I cherish is that I was reading my baby book and the first sentence I said was "see the light".  Well Brooklyn loves to say light.  She loves looking up and saying light.  I thought this was so neat.
-She loves music she dances all the time.  And she now loves to hear Dora when she comes on.  She is not very interested in television but she will start dancing and say D-D-Dora.
-She loves to read her books especially anything with a doggie.
-She hears me counting to her sister 1-2-3 she now can say them.
-She is now in 24month/2T clothing, size 6 shoe, and size 5 diaper.  She is in the 90% of height and 50% in weight.  She is so much taller and weighs more than Kennedy did at this age.
-She also loves her paci and I am trying to think about when and how to take it.  If anyone reading can help me please give me suggestions.
-She is a mommy's girl and I love it!

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:3

Christmas Eve at the Jones house

Christmas at the Jones house was so much fun this year.  Kennedy asked everyday when Santa was coming and she is still asking when is he coming back.
Channing read the Christmas story to the girls before Christmas Eve dinner at Mema Margret's(Channings 87 yr old grandma).  The tradition is to eat a steak meal and it was wonderful.  Channing even made his shrimp dip and it was so good I will share his recipe.  And we also opened gifts from Channing's family.

Kennedy and Mema opening up her first gift.

Brooklyn opening her first gift she did not want any help.

All smiles

Kennedy after all the gifts had been opened.

So up next is Christmas day.......
