Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve was spent with family and friends.  We meet at Channing's parents (10 feet from our house).  Brooklyn has been a sick little girl for a few days with Bronchitis.  She is feeling better this evening but it breaks my heart for her to be sick.  The girls opened a few gifts from her aunts and cousins.  Kennedy does not want to go to end tonight just 20 minutes ago she was wide awake because she wants her mema.  She is staying with them tonight and I hope that she will sleep so Santa will be able to come.

May this day bring peace to everyone that reads this blog because Jesus was born in a stable to live among us and to die for our sins.  That is an amazing gift.  I hope that everyone that reads this has the peace of salvation and if you don't that you will pray right now for the gift of salvation.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The Lord has blessed our home this year.  Channing started a new job as the Vice President of Continuing Education at Robeson Community College.  I stay busy working part time and being a wife and mommy.

The girls are so much fun and they keep me on my toes.  Kennedy is 41/2 years old and is in a 4 year old Kindergarden class at Grace Christian Academy and she loves it!!!!  Brooklyn is  2 years old and is going to a little preschool 3 days a weeks for a few hours and she loves it too.  Our family is doing well and I hope each and every one of you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Birth of Jesus Christ
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ[a] took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed[b] to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us). 24 When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, 25 but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.

Being a UNC-Pembroke BRAVE

Channing and I are graduates of UNC-Pembroke.  That is where we met and also my father retired with 38.5 years as the Media Director and instructor, Channing's mother is the Vice President and his grandfather was the longest standing Chancellor at UNCP.  I thought that it would great if I had pictures of the girls at UNC-Pembroke because it means so much to our family.  I hope one day that our girls will enjoy hearing about the memories that their family had at UNC-Pembroke.  Maybe they will be BRAVE and be UNCP graduates.
 Hope you enjoy:

Nose Packer

Yesterday evening I had to take Brooklyn to the urgent care because she had something in her nose.  Well, we get to the urgent care and the provider on call could not get the foreign object out so they referred her to an ENT(Ear, Nose and Throat ) doctor.

Looking at Brooklyn you would have never thought that she was in pain or that she had a foreign object in her nose.  So last night was a little strange because I was very nervous about her overnight and I did not want to go to the hospital to get it removed because that meant that she would have to be put to sleep.

So, Brooklyn and I got to the ENT doctor this morning at 7am and she was the 3rd patient seen.  The office staff was very nice and worried about Brooklyn so they got me in very fast to see the doctor.  So on the way to the doctor I had prepared myself about what could happen at the dr.'s office.  But the screaming that she did at the doctor I was not prepared for, because I  had to hold her down and the nurse had to hold her head while the doctor did his thing to remove the foreign object.

So are you wondering what the  foreign object that came out of my precious little active 21 month old was:  (a shiny bead that I have no clue where it came from? )

Brooklyn is good well and now Channing and I are going to have to watch this nose packer.

One Year Later

 Mothers Day 2010
Easter 2011

Tonight I was going through pictures of the girls and I noticed how much the girls have changed and me too!!!  Kennedy is now 4 years old ad Brooklyn is almost 21 months old.  They are growing like a weed especially Brooklyn.  Also I have been on a calorie diet since January and I have lost about 15 pounds and I feel so much better.  I am almost the weight I was when I got married :)  Now to the girls:

Kennedy:  Has been in ballet and soccer this year and she loves both but ballet the best.  Both activities end soon and I am ready for a break and my car.  She is a little Cinderella that wants to wear a dress everyday even out to play.  Also she is into flip flops with "diamonds" on them.  Also she loves the beach and she is ready to go swimming in her Uncle Bills Pool, she reminded me yesterday that the pool is ready.  She weighs 31 lbs and is wearing 4T clothing and  9M shoe.

Brooklyn:  She is on the move all the time and is talking non stop.  I thought Kennedy was a talker but Brooklyn has got her beat.  She copies everything you say and is asking all the time "What is that?"  She is still a big eater and she loves french fries.  We can be driving or riding in the car and she sees McDonald's and she says "mommy french fries".  She loves the outside and playing with Sampson and Deacon.   She weighs about 26 lbs and is wearing 2T clothing and 6.5-7W shoe.

My girls bring joy to my heart and I love them so much!!!!

When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.  John 16:21

Papa Randall's Birthday

On April 27th we celebrated two birthdays one for Papa Randall and cousin Linc. Channing's Aunt Cathy cooked a wonderful country meal and the kids played outside and did not want to go home.

Mema Diane gave the kids bubbles to play with and Brooklyn found the candy.  Oh no!!!!

Ready for a ride on the wagon

Brooklyn and Linc they are 4 months apart.

Kennedy and Cadence having a blast with their bubbles

Cousins that love each other.  (well when one does not have a toy that the other one wants)

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?(Ask Brooklyn she had three)

The Worst Hail Storm....

This is a storm that I will not forget.  We had 2 large hail storms this afternoon with hail that fell from the sky that was baseball and golf ball size.  I can not remember a time that I saw hail this size before.  When the hail was falling I thought the house was going to cave in.
We are thankful and bless that our home was not damaged. Here are some photos of the hail storm.

It looks like snow in the spring.

The fog that appeared after the storm.
The golf ball and baseball size hail.

Our neighbor made a chocolate cake for us and it was wonderful.  That is what we ate for supper.  I know that cake is not a good meal but it does have (milk and egg) doesn't that count.

Kennedy and Brooklyn's new little friend

Thursday and Friday my friend Jada brought her little fellow (Xander) over for me to watch while she worked on her dissertation research.  The girls have fallen in love with him and especially Kennedy she did not want him to go home.
They ate their little snack and watch Elmo for 5 minutes if that.  It is hard to get a 4 year old, 20 month old and 19 month old to sit still for a long time.  Xander you are a little blessing and we hope to see you soon.
