Story time-Love You Forever

Today I found a copy of a book the I love and cherish and  I want to share the story on how I got the book:
My mother died in 1998 from a brain aneurysm and she was not able to be at my wedding to give a gift that she always said she wanted to give me.  So my aunts decided to make sure that I got the gift.  So on my wedding day they got my suitcase without me knowing and placed a gift inside it.

So when Channing and I were on our honeymoon I opened up my suit case to unpack and their was a gift for me.  I told Channing thank you and he said that he did not get that for me.  So, I opened the gift and it was a book Title Love You Forever.  I opened the first page and my aunts had wrote a story about how they knew that my mother wanted to give me this book on my wedding day.  I had never read this book, so on my honeymoon I read the book and cried my eyes out and now every time I read it I cry.

I have read it to Kennedy several time but today at story time it was Brooklyn's first time hearing it.  It brings joy to my heart every time I read it and also I cry.

I miss my mother but I know that this little children's book will be a way I can share the love I have for my mother with my girls.  My mother would love to see the girls but she is in a better place with the Lord and that puts peace in my soul.

Papa taught Kennedy how to ride her bike!!!!

While at the beach house Kennedy was wanting to ride her bike.  So I went outside with her to teach her how to ride(with training wheels)  but she was getting so upset she would say "mommy it is not working".  So I told her to have daddy help her.  Well, Papa Randall came down to the beach to visit us at his beach house and they were outside washing the golf cart and she just jumped on and started going and she did not stop.  She was so excited and happy that she had to tell everyone.
After the bike ride her and Papa Randall wen to the local arcade and she played all the fun games and she won tickets.  With her arcade tickets she bracelets.  She was so protective of her bracelets she thought they were gold.

It's Official

Brooklyn is talking and walking.
Here are a few words Brooklyn is saying:  Mama, Dada, Dede(Deacon), bye, bye.
Some cute things she does:  Kennedy loves to play hide-n-seek and when we are counting she now will count 1, 2,3 in baby talk it is so cute.  Also we are always telling Kennedy to share so today she said share.

As a baby Kennedy talked a lot and now Brooklyn is talking a lot.  I think she hears her big sister talking so she is trying to keep up.  I am amazed everyday of the love that they have for each other.  I have to tell Kennedy to be nice to her baby sister many time through out the day but at the end of the night she always wants to kiss and give her a big hug.

I am so blessed to have two beautiful, smart and healthy girls but most of all I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to be a mommy.  I pray that each day the Lord will guide and strengthen me so that I can walk closer to him so that I may be the Godly wife and mother I desire.  I hope that the Lord will bless my home with more little ones.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.Psalms 127:3-5

Traveling with Daddy

So , Channing came to me Tuesday and said we might be going to the beach I said why he said I have a chance to play in a golf tournament and I want you and the girls to come with me. So I said sure it will be fun to go back to the beach for a few days. So we got here early Thursday morning and all Kennedy could say was when are we going to the beach. I know that it is 90 degrees outside but I said honey the water is cold. So this morning she said mommy we took our nap now it is time to go to the beach. So I said daddy will take you (I hope he will take the girls).

So this afternoon I made a dash to Tanger Outlets to get the girls some shoes and Kennedy some pj's. Well went to Carter's outlet for pj's and all they had was 1 pair that I liked. They are zebra print(Lauren you would love them). Here is Kennedy in her new pj's.
So while we were shopping Kennedy wanted to go into the Disney store. She usually will not ask for anything in a store other than Cheetos but today was different. She saw a Cinderella bride dress up outfit and she wanted it. Well the outfit was 40 dollars and I said we need to talk with daddy about buying this because it cost a lot of money(must be the Dave Ramsey coming out in me). She agreed and no mention of the outfit since. I wonder if she will ask her daddy.

I am so blessed to have a loving husband that wants to bring his family with him to the beach.

Ladies I have noticed that my girls eat differently. Kennedy is not a big eater we have to make her eat and Brooklyn on the other hand eats anything you give her. Tonight we were eating dinner and Kennedy ate in minutes and Brooklyn is always the last to finish her meal. So her favorite after meal snack is Gogurts (portable yougurts that I freeze. They are a lifesaver when she is crying and wants a snack.

House plans

Channing (my husband) went and bought me four more house plan books to go through this week. So I have been looking through them and now every house plan seems to be the same. Also every house I love Channing said "Emily this is too big, Emily that is not our style, Emily we are on a budget". So now I am wondering if I can just close my eyes and pick out a plan. Well I guess it is back to reality and find a budget friendly plan and hopefully we will all like it.

My wonderful aunt has been helping me find a house plan so maybe she can talk my husband into a plan that I love!!!

In another note we are going to be finding out about land this week so I am praying that the Lord's will be done in everything about the land and house plans.

The Lord moved us from our home in New Bern and I am so glad to hear that our house is being used for the Lord. Thank you Lauren for all you have done for my family and keeping our house a place of love.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. - Deuteronomy 31:6

Kennedy is a busy little girl-Cab driver.

Well I thought I was busy but now I am VERY busy. Kennedy this school year will go to a preschool 3 days a week from 9-12. She will go to ballet one day a week, Learn Together school program on Tuesday's nights and then all the other activities with the family.

I currently teach for the University of Phoenix and Pitt Community College (online) so I teach my classes when the girls are napping and at night. So when I finally slow down it is late at night.

All I call say is that my daughter is a busy little girl and I am her cab driver.

Kennedy's Occupation-Boston Red Sox

This morning I asked Kennedy what do you want to be when you grow up she replied with this

"Mommy I want to be a soccer player and a baseball kicker". I said Kennedy you don't want to be a mommy she said that is great but I want to be a baseball player."

Channing loves baseball (especially Boston Red Sox's) and he wanted a left handed baseball player I guess he is getting a left handed baseball kicker.
Do you think Boston will take a left handed baseball kicker? If so it would make her daddy so happy.

Brooklyn's 1 yr old portrait session

Oh my goodness went today to preview Brooklyn's 1 year pictures at Jordan's Portrait Design in St. Pau's, NC. And all of them were so good. Kevin and Dixie Jordan are great Christan photographers that love the art of photography. They did my wedding portrait, Kennedy's baby pictures, and now Brooklyn's pictures. If you need a photographer contact them here is there website: http://www.jordanportrait.com

Beach Time with Lala and Lily Kate(Memories I will cherish)

The girls and I went to the beach for a few days with my friend Lauren(La-La) and her 19 month old baby girl Lily Kate. We had so much fun. Kennedy asked everyday where daddy was now she is asking to see La-la. I told her that La-la lives a long way from Pembroke and she said yes but we are going to her house. So, Lauren we will see you soon in New Bern when Kennedy learns about distance and time. Her are pics that Lauren took:

Very busy mommy

Today has been a very busy and a little stressful day. My sister had surgery so she is staying with us for the week. My girls have been fussy so I am in need of help from the Lord. Here are some verses for encouragement.

Isaiah 41:10, Jeremiah 29:11-13

Please keep my sister Allison in your prayers.

Ballet

Kennedy will start ballet tomorrow at the School of Ballet in Lumberton. Tonight she wanted to try her outfit on.

Nap time...or Closet time

Little Kennedy wanted to take her nap in her closet with her babies: doll, 2 horses, elephant, and lion. Channing came home and said where is Kennedy I said she is in the closet asleep. The door of her closet is open and her light is on. So glad she has a walk in closet.
So I am thinking why did we buy a bed.

Love cooking....Left overs

Yesterday went to visit my husband at work and he said honey I am so hungry can you cook lunch I said sure. So I made a mad dash to Piggly Wiggly to get grocery. So I came home and cooked stew beef, rice, green beans, blueberry cobbler and fresh ice tea.
I was so proud of myself that I got it done for him at 12:30pm. But today is another story we ate left overs. And I do know what I am cooking tonight.
Any suggestions???

Kennedy going shopping

Kennedy was playing today and she decided that she needed to go shopping. So, she got her baby stroller straped her stuffed elephant in and had a pocket book that Lauren gave her in one arm and had an old cellphone in the other talking away.

Well, Channing and I were talking to each other and she looked at us and said mommy I am on the phone. So now I know she is listening when I tell her that I am on the phone and I need her to stop talking.

Now I just need her to go learn to shop at the actual store for me. lol
