Minus One

Kennedy spent this weekend with her Papa Randall and Me ma at the beach.  Mr. Randall had a board retreat so they wanted to take Kennedy so that she could enjoy a few days with them at the beach.  Well, that left little Brooklyn back in Pembroke without her sister and this is what we did:

Friday:  Brooklyn ate chocolate cake and milk for breakfast (I know you think I am crazy but that is all I had we are trying to eat all of the food in the house before our move).  Then she ate corn on the cob for lunch it was her first time eating on the cob :
Saturday:  We went to the homecoming football game at UNC-Pembroke.  It was her first UNCP game and first football game.  Channings's mom gave us great tickets so she loved clapping and stopping with the cheerleaders.  After the game we went and got a Sunkist and pork skins Channing favorite snack.

Sunday   Brooklyn ate mini waffles. We went to Channing's home church they had Pastor Appreciation and Homecoming.  It was very nice and the food was awesome.  Brooklyn ate:  fried chicken, chicken-n-pastry, green beans, corn, corn bread, grapes and more chocolate cake.  Her aunt Judy packed her some banana pudding to go and she ate that when she got home.

We miss Kennedy so much.  Brooklyn is enjoying not having to fight over her toys but she keeps looking for her and I know she will love seeing her when she returns this evening.
It is amazing when you have 2 kids and then you are minus one how lost you feel and that you want them back in your arms.  Me ma bring back Kennedy we miss her.

God is in my heart

Today I was a little down and we were driving in the car and Kennedy was talking with me and she said mommy God is in my stomach.  I said Kennedy God is in your heart she said he is in your heart too mommy.  That just brighten my day and God brought her little voice to me so that I can understand that God is always with me and he will be the light that I need to get out of a dark place.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. – Matthew 11:28-30

"Fall" into Sisterhood

Channing's father has a large pear tree with the best pears.  So he brought pears this morning for me to can for the winter.  A big job that Brooklyn wanted to help me with.

Play time for Brooklyn and Kennedy

In the past 3 weeks the girls have been playing with each other and finding all kinds of thing to get into at the house.
First, Brooklyn loves to sit in Kennedy's baby doll stroller and be pushed around the house.Brooklyn is holding her baby while Kennedy strolls her around. And also she loves to get a can soup and place it in a bag and carry it around.  Kennedy also is getting a little jealous especially when mema comes over to play.  The joys of sisterhood and the love they have for each other will grow stronger each day.

Brooklyn loves to carry around a can item in a grocery bag.  She is studying the chicken soup can.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.  1 John 3:11-12

Playing Catch up

I have not posted in a few days so I am going to have to catch up in this post:

1.  A few weeks ago I went to the eye doctor for my annual check up well she said that my legally blind eye is still the same 20/400 and my right eye is good but I need to have glasses for reading and looking at the computer.  So last week I went to get my glasses and  I like them just it taking time to get use to them.  Most of the time I forget about them and then Channing will say Emily you need your glasses.  I have noticed since I wear my glasses to read and teach my class online that I get less headaches and this is a plus.

2.  My father gave me a whole lot of apples that I had to decide what to do with so I was talking with Channings grandmother she is 88 years olds and she makes apple sauce(baked apples) and freezers it so I asked her for the recipe and to my surprise she shared it with me.  So Sunday evening I spent peeling, slicing and cooking apples.  They are so good not sure if they will last for the winter.

3.  House and moving issues.  We plan to move from our home we rent from my aunt into Channing's parents home in a few weeks.  The tractor trailer will be delivered on Wednesday and then we will send it over to Channing's parents home when we complete the move.  We were looking into storing all of our furniture and boxes in a storage unit but it was so expensive.  So, Channing found a lady that was selling trailers and he bought one at a really good price.  It is the way to go if you have to store items for a long time and you do not want to pay the storage fee.  We are still looking at 3 house plans and hoping to narrow it down to one house plan very soon.  Also we made an offer on some land and I hope we get it.

4.  We have been going to a wonderful church and they have treated our family so great.  I am in a ladies bible study on Thursday nights and the book we are using is Anointed Transformed Redeemed A Study of David.  It is a powerful bible study on the life of David.  I would suggest this study for any Christian lady.  Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, and Kay Arthur are the featured writers for the study.  One main point that I enjoyed last week was to learn how David was anointed at 15 years old to be king but did not reign in Israel until he was 37 years old.  How he was patient and waited on God and he asked for God's guidance.  I hope that in my life I can be more patient on the Lord and always ask for his guidance.

I will keep you up to date on the study it is every other week.

Have a good day!

Kennedy baked a cake

Today Kennedy and I baked a fall theme cake.  I am not much of a "cake boss" so I bought the box cake mix and icing.  We finished decorating the cake and then I took a picture of the cake, so I could record our event of baking a cake.  Well after she looked at the picture she said mommy did the cake say cheese.  I just laughed and said no it did not say anything.

Playroom Before and After

This took 5 minutes with 2 little active girls.

This is the playroom after a few minutes of playing-2 little ones done all this!!!!

Cleaning was harder than messing up.

Playing House

Kennedy loves to play "House" especially when she gets to be the mommy.  Today she did not want to take a nap so she looked at me and said "mommy can I be the mommy I said sure Kennedy and she said OK"  but what I said next broke her little heart.  I told her even mommies have to have naps.  She said mommy I don't want to be the mommy anymore.

Halloween Birthday Party-Black and White Cat

Today, October 16, 2010 Kennedy and I went to a Halloween Birthday Party for Caroline Locklear we had so much fun.  Kennedy played on the bouncy and slide and they served her favorite pizza and coke to drink.  The theme of the party was Halloween.  I am not a big fan of Halloween because of all the scary characters and the meaning behind the day but I thought the party was so much fun and it was not scary at all.
I decide to let Kennedy wear a leopard print dress with a matching cat hat.  She thought it was so fun to be a striped cat.  This was a very easy costume:
1 Leopard Print Dress+Black tights+ Cat winter hat=a pricless time with my daughter.

Google

So tonight I was online searching (google) for an item so I thought what about if I google my name "Emily Love Jones image".  So this is what I got back:
This is my wedding portrait.

This was a shock that I actually found a picture and it was the first one to come up.  Has anyone googled themselves?

Caught...........

Mommy caught me!
Caught Brooklyn on the stairs (on her way down)

Got milk?

Today has being to be a crazy day-----
First I forgot to pick up milk last night at the grocery store so when my two little ones got up this morning they wanted milk and I did not have any.  So what does a super mommy do go to the local gas station and get a strawberry milk for them to share.  I live in the country so it is not as quick to get to the grocery store as when I lived in New Bern.  Living in the country I wish we had milking cows but then I got to thinking when do I have time to keep up a cow and milk her everyday.  Well, that is another message......
I have a lady that sometimes will come over and help me clean so today she came because I had so much to do with cleaning house, changing closets, school work, and baby time that I needed help.  She must have heard my cry.  So I am blessed to have her come help me on days I need help.  I know you say you are a stay at home mom and someone helps you with cleaning.  Well, my life does not stop as a stay at home mom, I am more busy now than when I was a full IT administrator at ECU.

Here is my job title: wife, mommy, teacher, housekeeper, shoulder to cry on, clean noses, butts and cook.  So you tell me what my job is worth and I would have to say priceless.  I get to wake up and see my beautiful daughters laugh, cry and desire to be with me and they love me.  I am not saying that it is easy but it worth every second I get to see them smile.
So to conclude each day will bring challenges I just have to look at the positive it will bring.  And give all God the glory.

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.  Joshua 24:15

Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair-2010

Channing and I took the girls to the Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair on October 5, 2010.  They had a blast.  Kennedy rode some of the kiddie rides by herself. Brooklyn could only ride the carousel and she had so much fun on it we rode it twice.

Kennedy wanted to play the fishing game.  She caught three fish and won a green dog.

Kennedy on the flying dinos.  She loved it!
 Brooklyn loved her balloon.
Brooklyn enjoying her cotton candy.  Her entire face and mouth was blue.
Kennedy enjoying the cotton candy.

The first booth we attended was the live stock.  Kennedy loves animals so she was so happy to see goats, ducks, donkey, ponies and so much more.  Brooklyn loved looking at all the people and lights.
The girls were getting hungry so we started looking for dinner.  Brooklyn started smelling the good food and started to cry so we knew we needed to find food FAST.  So Channing got pizza, fried chicken, collards, fat back and fried corn bread.  And also a lemonade for the girls.  Before we left Kennedy wanted cotton candy and they had to try it before we even left the parking lot.

I enjoyed the fair as a kid but taking my daughters was so much fun.  I know that they will not remember the fair but I will always remember the smiles on their face.

House Plans

Each week it seems that I have a favorite house plan so that is going to have to stop because all the books and  web pages are taking over my house and computer.  Well today I have decided to narrow my top 5 house plans.  I hope that Channing will like them.  I will post pictures soon.  Also we think we have found land I am so exited.  Let the house planning begin.....
